The Galata Bridge: This is a bridge over the Golden Horn that connects the districts of Eminönü and Karaköy and crosses a tram line.
Galata Tower: A 67-meter high watchtower built by the Genoese in 1267 within the boundaries of present-day Beyoğlu.
Dolmabahçe Palace: An extravagant and magnificent palace built in 1856 by the Ottoman Empire within the boundaries of today’s Beşiktaş district, right by the sea.
Çırağan Palace: An Ottoman-era palace between Beşiktaş and Ortaköy, which today functions as a hotel of the same name right next door.
Ortaköy Mosque: Built by Nigoğos Balyan in the 1850s for the then Ottoman sultan. This mosque, with its baroque architectural features, is a coastal mosque.
Anadolu and Rumeli Fortress: These are two fortresses located on both continents, directly opposite each other. One was built during the Byzantine period, the other directly opposite when Sultan Mehmet conquered Istanbul.
Kuleli Military College: This was a military school where qualified and famous officers of the Ottoman state and the Turkish Republic were trained for years. Today, unfortunately, the school is no longer in use, but serves as a museum.
Beylerbeyi Palace: A mansion built by the architect Sarkis Balyan and commissioned by the then Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz between 1861 and 1865.
Bosphorus Maiden’s Tower: The tower is a remnant of the Byzantine era and is located in the middle of the sea on the parts of the Bosphorus that are close to the Sea of Marmara. Although there are various rumours about it, today it is used as a restaurant.
